TWO SA TEAMS OFF TO BOTSWANA TO SEEK WORLD RELAYS QUALIFICATION

A squad of eight athletes landed in Gaborone earlier on Friday in search for a World Relays Championships qualifier in two events.

Chasing a slot in the 4x100m and Mixed Relays, a strong contigent of athletes will contest the Lefika International Relays taking place on Saturday 28 March in the capital. 

For South Africa, this is a race against time as the window of opportunity nears closure. Teams must qualify before the 5 April 2026 deadline. Amongst the teams also participating are hosts Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
